These episodes premiered in the US back in July, meaning that fans in the UK have had an arduous wait on their hands – not to mention a number of major spoilers to dodge on social media.

Fortunately, we'll be wading into the discourse soon as What We Do in the Shadows comes to Disney Plus this week, giving us an update on the (after)lives of Nandor (Kayvan Novak), Laszlo (Matt Berry), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou) and Colin (Mark Proksch).

Inspired by a 2014 indie film from Thor director Taika Waititi and Flight of the Conchords performer Jemaine Clement, the comedy-horror series has become a firm favourite of viewers and critics alike, racking up dozens of award nominations.

There will surely be more to come, too, as FX handed the show a double renewal in 2022, although star Matt Berry recently hinted that season 6 could be the last.

What is What We Do in the Shadows about?

What We Do in the Shadows is a mockumentary-style sitcom about four vampires who share a house in New York City.

The series explores their relationships with one another and the broader community, including fellow vampires and other mythical beings such as werewolves.

In addition to revealing how monster society functions, the show also features some fish-out-of-water comedy as the centuries-old vampires attempt to navigate and understand an ever-changing modern world.

Speaking on the red carpet at the Royal Festival Hall back in May, RadioTimes.com asked Berry, who portrays vampire Lazlo in the series, how many more seasons could be on the cards.

"That’s not up to me," he mused. "We’re about to do the sixth. I think only four have come out here, but they’re on Disney Plus. I don’t know how many there’s going to be after that, but it’s not my decision."

He continued: "There’s a lot of harnesses and stunts and stuff. I might be getting a bit too old for that! I don’t know. But, you know, I’m supposed to be undead, so the rules don’t apply, do they?"

Nandor is frequently accompanied by his long-suffering familiar Guillermo de la Cruz, played by Harvey Guillén, who wants nothing more than to join the immortal ranks of the undead.

The show has had some big name guest stars over its first three seasons, including Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy), Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange), Mark Hamill (Star Wars) and Evan Rachel Wood (Westworld).
